OCT 1-3 2025
We set out expecting 20 events and 1,500 participants. What followed was beyond anything we imagined: 105 events, 5000+ unique attendees and 136 partner organizations. The message was unmistakable. Canadians care deeply about climate change. They want to learn, connect, and take action together.
true north rising: tocw’s official kick-off (opening ceremony)
True North Rising, our sold-out opening ceremony, brought together a room full of like-minded people ready to share ideas, inspiration, and a commitment to action. The event began with a Traditional Indigenous Opening from Waabshkigan Shane Monague of Scared Earth, where attendees reflected on the impacts of colonialism on communities and the importance of reconciliation.

BDC Capital’s Sustainability Venture Fund and Climate Tech Fund co-hosted this Climate Tech & Sustainability Mixer and Panel discussion on the opening day of the inaugural Toronto Climate Week 2025. Bringing together founders, investors, and ecosystem builders who are advancing technologies including AI, Deeptech, Hardware & Software in Canada in the spaces of Climate and Sustainability.

From vision to execution, we heard from leading practitioners and thought leaders on how they’ve scaled climate strategies and projects, adopted cutting edge technologies, and incorporated circularity and the reuse of materials, all while driving profitability and stakeholder value. We also heard from policy makers and leaders, along with some of the top tech innovators in the industry.

Clean Tech & Innovation
Co-hosted by global sustainability agency Flag and AI-powered reporting platform Workiva, with a special guest speaker from the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board (CSSB). This informal gathering was designed for sustainability professionals to connect, share perspectives and discuss how to balance impact with credibility in an evolving sustainability reporting landscape.

RiskThinking hosted an in-person networking event for climate, sustainability, and data professionals during Toronto Climate Week 2025. We saw innovative prototypes built with RiskThinking.ai’s Climate Digital Twin (CDT™) via CDTexpress, presented by participating teams. This event is also a great opportunity to network with peers, students, researchers, and industry professionals working at the intersection of climate, data, and innovation.

University of Toronto's Lawson Climate Institute, in partnership with Canada's Ocean Supercluster, a national, industry-led cluster that accelerates the development and commercialization of made-in-Canada ocean solutions, invited U of T students from all areas of study to put their ideas to the test. Teams raced against the clock to design bold, practical answers to real climate challenges, and pitch their solutions to experts.

PwC Canada was pleased to invite attendees to the Toronto launch of The Gigacorn Hunter: Seven Principles for a Climate Investor, the international bestseller by PwC alumnus Nelson Switzer, Managing Partner, Climate Innovation Capital.
As part of the official Toronto Climate Week program, attendees joined us for an engaging afternoon of insights and dialogue on the future of climate investing. Nelson shared how investors and entrepreneurs can identify breakthrough climate technologies that deliver both impact and returns.
