The best way to participate is to host an event! Hosting an event during Toronto Climate Week (TOCW) June 1-7th, 2026, is a great way to get exposure for your brand and directly connect with the climate ecosystem. Here’s how to get started:
Decide the Theme and Event Type — check our guide for inspiration
Ensure it meets Event Criteria Guidelines
Secure a Venue — this could be your office, a local venue, or browse our venue directory.
Submit your Event - a Luma event will be created by TOCW for approved submissions
Modify as Needed - you will be added as a co-host to update the event as details are confirmed
Promote your Event — invite your community, share on your social media channels and tag @torontoclimateweek so we can repost and help amplify the reach.

Anyone! Toronto Climate Week is open to all; large organizations, non-profits, startups, government entities, and individuals. If you have a climate-focused or adjacent idea, this is your chance to share it, connect with like-minded changemakers, and inspire action in your community.

There is no fee to list your event on the TOCW calendar. As an event host, you are responsible for securing any necessary funding to cover your event costs (e.g. venue costs, food & beverage.)

Hosts are responsible for all aspects of their event. This includes:
Event programming: theme, type, content creation, speaker sourcing/confirmation
Logistics: venue selection, time/date, sourcing/securing required vendors (tech, food, drinks, etc.)
Attendee experience and engagement
Budget: be it securing internally or sourcing partners/co-hosts/sponsors to support with event costs
Marketing: promoting the event to their communities
Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
TOCW is responsible for:
Facilitating a broader network of connectivity and awareness under a shared brand
Creating and managing conference infrastructure, including a centralized events page, partner directories, and host support flagship events
Supporting meaningful collaborations and partnerships
Highlighting events to our network through direct channels and media partners

Yes, our event platform, Luma, supports different ticket types, including free, sliding scale, requires approval, early bird, and more. While we encourage free events to drive participation through accessibility, we understand this is not an option for all hosts and still invite paid mission-aligned events to participate in Toronto Climate Week. Coupon codes can be used to allow select guests free access or discounts to a paid event.
Invite-only events are allowed and can be set up by requiring approval for registration. You can set the event location so it’s only shared with approved guests.

Each event organizer is responsible for their own marketing initiatives and is encouraged to connect with their community to increase participation.
TOCW amplifies events through social media, our newsletter, website, and events calendar. Event hosts can tag TOCW @torontoclimateweek on social channels to collaborate and increase visibility. We ask that you leverage the Toronto Climate Week Brand Kit to ensure consistent branding and alignment.
A rising tide lifts all ships; with everyone actively promoting their event and TOCW, we will drive awareness and increase the impact we’ll have in ensuring a climate-focused future in Toronto.

Events must focus on climate or sustainability themes, comply with all laws, foster welcoming and respectful spaces, and take place in-person in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area between June 1 - 7, 2026. Events outside the GTA must provide transportation. Limited number of virtual events is allowed - please reach out to programming@tocw.ca for approval. Yes! There is no maximum number of events an individual/organization can host as long as each event meets the required criteria and the host has the bandwidth to deliver a high-quality experience.

Most events should be in-person within Toronto or the GTA. Limited virtual events are allowed but restricted to approved partners. If you’re interested in hosting a virtual event, please reach out to programming@tocw.ca.

Events must occur in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area. Events outside the GTA require transportation for attendees to be provided. Keep in mind that the majority of events will be held in Downtown Toronto.

If your event falls outside of, but is close to, June 1 - 7, it can be included in the calendar but we cannot guarantee additional support. Please reach out to programming@tocw.ca if you would like to discuss dates.

At submission you need to have confirmed the theme and date. A working description is required, but can be edited as you finalize speakers, agenda and venues. Logistics must be confirmed by May 15, 2026 to allow attendees time to plan their climate week experience.

All events must be live on lu.ma by May 15, 2026.

You can make updates to your event directly on Luma by selecting Manage under the event photo on the event page. Note that TOCW supports connections but does not manage bookings or changes - those are handled between event hosts and their contacts.

The TOCW Brand Kit is available and includes logos, luma badges, social graphics, wordmark and wordmark & logo. To increase visibility, we ask that hosts include TOCW branding and tag @torontoclimate week when promoting their events so TOCW can repost.
Marketing of the event calendar begins in March, with event promotion continuing through May. Leading up to June, the TOCW marketing and social team will feature event spotlights, leveraging cross-platform engagement to drive viewership and elevate reach.

TOCW ‘26 will take place June 1 - 7, 2026. As a decentralized platform, events will be hosted at different locations, primarily in downtown Toronto but also across the GTA.

Nearly all Toronto Climate Week events will be in-person in the Toronto and GTA area. With that being said, there will be some hybrid and a few virtual-only events.

Events are individually managed by hosts, so registration would be for specific events. All events will use Luma for registration; no formal registration for Toronto Climate Week as a whole is necessary.

Toronto offers a wide variety of accommodations to fit every budget - from major hotel chains to boutique hotels and short-term rentals. While we don’t have official recommendations, attendees looking to keep their visit low-energy and eco-friendly might consider sustainable or green-certified hotels such as The Broadview Hotel, One King West, or The Hazelton Hotel, which prioritize energy efficiency and sustainable practices. We also encourage booking early, as demand tends to rise during Climate Week.
