Introducing Sustainalicious: A Month-Long Celebration of Climate-Smart Eating Across Toronto
May 15 – June 14, 2026
For one month this spring, climate action is just a dinner reservation away!
From May 15 to June 14, Toronto is hosting Sustainalicious, a city-wide celebration of climate-smart eating that brings together restaurants, chefs, home cooks, and climate-curious eaters for one of the tastiest months of the year.
Brought to you by Toronto Climate Week and Eat for Impact, with support from Zestyplan and the Toronto Vegetarian Food Bank, Sustainalicious turns the everyday choice of what's on your plate into a shared, city-scale initiative focussing on the intricate relationship between food and climate.
It's a chance to try a new restaurant, cook something you've never made before, and see how small shifts in how we eat can make a difference. With food systems representing as much as 30% of global emissions, Toronto has a unique opportunity to show how a city with an incredible food culture can set a global example.

Restaurants and chefs at the forefront
At the heart of Sustainalicious is the work happening in kitchens across the city. Participating restaurants are putting plant-forward, climate-smart dishes front and centre on their menus for the duration of the challenge. These dishes were created specifically for Sustainalicious by chefs who understood how their ingredients and menus shape the city's footprint. Here are just a few of the 35+ participating restaurants.
Pai Northern Thai Kitchen (Downtown / Uptown) — Michelin-recommended restaurant bringing the bold, aromatic flavours of Northern Thailand to Toronto: fragrant curries, larb, and vibrant street food classics.
Hawker (Kensington Market) — Chef Leah Steduto's artfully composed plant-based small plates are incredible, highlighting foraged and fermented seasonal local produce.
Dailo (Little Italy) — Chef Nick Liu's acclaimed "Asian brasserie" serves primarily Chinese fare but it follows the French tradition.
Antylia (Bloorcourt) — A husband-and-wife love letter to Latin American cuisine, with seasonal Canadian ingredients and a corn-forward tasting menu.
Bellona Kitchen (Jane St & Little Italy) — Italian comfort food rooted in a family's Neapolitan recipes: fresh pasta, pizza, and Sunday dinner warmth, all plant-forward.
Stefano's (Trinity-Bellwoods) — From the team behind Michelin-recommended Gia, Italian diner classics done plant-forward, with a smash burger that speaks for itself.
Soos (Trinity-Bellwoods) — Modern interpretations of Malaysian street food that incorporates the exotic and complex flavours of Malay and Nyonya cuisines into popular staples with a twist.
Bar Avelo (The Annex) — Toronto's most imaginative plant-forward fine dining. The food is an internationally inspired plant-based tapas menu, featuring seasonal produce and house-made items such as lion’s mane mushrooms, and various vegan cheeses.
Diners can visit any participating restaurant during the challenge window, log their visit on the Sustainalicious platform, and earn points toward individual and team milestones along the way.

A cook-at-home component with chef-curated recipes
Sustainalicious is built so anyone can take part, in whatever way fits their week. Can’t get out to a restaurant? Try one of the Sustainalicious recipes, many of which have been contributed by the participating restaurants. Other contributions come from food influencers and other recipe developers. It’s easy and free to take part — just sign up, cook a recipe, and upload a photo of your creation to see the difference you made.
A team challenge inside this city-wide moment
Have a bunch of foodies in your office? You can set up a team challenge and see the impact you make as a group.
Teams rack up points together as they visit restaurants, cook recipes, and log activity on the platform, with leaderboards, milestone moments, and team-level shout-outs throughout the month. It's a great way to engage your team and show them that small changes make a big difference.
Did I mention there is a leaderboard? Oh, and prizes!
"Sustainalicious is something I've wanted to bring to life for a long time. Food is one of the most personal, joyful, and powerful levers we have for climate action, and to see it come together as part of Toronto Climate Week, alongside partners who are on the same mission, has been inspiring. I can't wait to visit these restaurants myself!"
